Bloggers should take Advantage of Facebook

Facebook is one of the largest social networking site around the globe. It is believed to have more than 750 million members. That is why many people use Facebook as an advertising tool to promote their product. The more people like your Facebook page, the more clients will get to know what you are selling.

So have you ever used Facebook to promote your blog? If your answer is YES then its good. However if your answer is NO, then you should start now as you are missing a lot. Facebook is a very powerful tool for blog promotion. It is a powerful tool to let people know of what’s new on your blog and it’s great to build a loyal following too.

So, why should you use Facebook to promote your blog? Some advantages of using Facebook are:

  1. Facebook is a powerhouse – It has over 750 million active users and is rapidly expanding every day.
  2. Naturally viral – It is a great way of spreading your blog posts to your friends as well as your friend’s friends. If you write interesting and useful content, people may share your link and thus driving more traffic to your blog.
  3. People can Like your posts and your blog – “Like” feature of Facebook is a great way of building social proof about the quality of your blog content and your entire blog in general. Besides social proof, each time someone “Likes” your blog post, it also gets posted on their wall providing you with even more exposure.

If you are not already using Facebook, you’re missing the boat. It’s time to set up a Facebook Page!

Facebook pages offer a simple, free, yet effective opportunity to build online presence. The facility to page customization and integration of apps with them further maximizes user interaction. Creating a facebook page is the best bloggers can do to promote their blog.

But setting up a Page is not the only step in the process. You must learn how to continually interact and provide value to the little community you’ve built, as well as attract new friends. Below are some tips for Facebook Page marketing:

Do not Be A Promoter

Don’t make every post about you and your business. For every 4 posts you put up, make at least 1 post that your readers may find interesting or valuable. Try something different like putting up videos, photos, surveys, polls, online contests, and more.

Ask Questions to your Fans

Social Media is all about interaction. You’ll need to engage your fans, not just promote, promote, promote. You can be creative with the questions too! Don’t just ask questions that are a means to an end for your business. This isn’t a customer satisfaction survey we’re doing here, it’s trying to strike up a conversation with your real life fans.

Get Feedback

What better place to get feedback? You can ask people for positive experiences within your blog.

Be Social

People are there to be social, so let’s be social. Have a sense of humor, make a joke, and show emotion.

Prefer Manual Submission

Automation has become very popular. You now have the ability to automatically post your Twitter feed, Blog feed, as well as other peoples’ feeds. Your fans will know you’re automating and it can seem impersonal and like “spam”. Try to put up as much real and engaging content as possible.

  3. Hi,

I find your article pretty interesting because I have read somewhere (now I can’t remember) that setting up a FB page doesn’t really help. It said that hardly anyone goes to your FB company page. It said to use your personal FB page instead.

Well, I’m now learning that my personal page is being drowned out by all the people I like to follow for my blog and personal blogging information.

I think I will need to sit down and figure out how to set up a page and then more all my blogging stuff over there. Or should I keep some of the sites I follow on my personal site? I’m just not sure what to do.

Thanks for the article cause now I need to rethink this FB page thing. Sally

    • I think you should start a Facebook page. The people who will LIKE your page, will get updates on their home page whenever you post something. This helps a lot in getting good traffic.

In case you need any kind of help, just tell me.
